I don’t give a Danesh!

April 20, 2008

HERE is the first press picture released of popstar-reject Darius Danesh as Gone with the Wind leading man Rhett Butler.

Darius, 27, who rose to fame on ITV’s Popstars in 2000, will make his debut stage performance as the dashing Captain Butler on Tuesday, at the New London Theatre.

Best known for his cringe-inducing version of Baby one more time, during his reality TV stint, Darius will play along side leading lady Jill Paice.

Jill will portray southern belle Scarlett O’Hara in the musical version of the best selling novel by Margaret Mitchell.

The story, immortalised on screen by Clarke Gable and Vivienne Leigh, is set during the American civil war and tells the tale of the ruthless plantation heiress Scarlett, who will do anything to claw back her southern life and lost love, Ashley Wilkes.

Singer-songwriter Danesh said: “I have grown to identify with Rhett a lot through reading the book.”
