AN ULSTER man was jailed for 12 months yesterday for drunkenly joking he was a muslim terrorist with a bomb on London’s tube.
Civil servant, George McFaul, 43, had been on a drinking session to celebrate a new job last December. He boarded the tube to travel to his Walthamstow home.
The court heard how as the train approached Kings Cross-the station where the 7/7 bombers split up- McFaul held up his rucksack and whispered:
“I am a Muslim and I’ve got a bomb that is going to blow up in 60 seconds.”
Two female passengers heard him and one raised the alarm by pulling the emergency cord as the train pulled in to Kings Cross.
Southwark Crown Court judge Nicholas Loraine-Smith said: “In a drunken state you did something saying it was a joke. It was no joke for the people in that carriage.”
