PETE Doherty was released from prison today after serving only 29 days of his sentence and was surprised to find that jail was full of gangsters.
The Babyshambles frontman who was released early from a 14 week sentence for missing appointments with probation officers joked:
“Thank you, Mrs Thatcher, for putting me in the company of the most dangerous criminals in the country.”
When asked what prison life was like, he said there was “a lot of gangsters and Radio 4″ and then showed off a certificate to prove he passed a drugs test while inside.
Putting his spare time to good use, he revealed he kept a journal and showed reporters a number of sketches and doodles he had done in his cell.
After his 29 day stretch behind bars, Doherty said he was looking forward to a nice glass of rum and coke and spending time with his cats. Rock and Roll.
